Tapestry of Green
Green is my colour of well-being. I need a healthy dose of green each day - so much so that I’ve made it a priority to choose home and work environments where I have ready access to greenery outside my windows and outside my door. I especially love the way sunlight filters through the leaves in the trees, creating a dappled effect and a sense of lightness and optimism.
From spring through fall I’m out walking and spending time surrounded by the tapestry of green in our beautiful urban parks and forests. When indoors, I’m always orienting myself to the windows, with their views outward onto the mature canopy of trees. In winter I so crave the greenery of foliage! I rely on my many indoor plants, but also find myself dreaming of seeing that tapestry of green out my windows again.
I created this hanging so that even in winter I can rest my eyes on a ‘window’ of green, and be reminded of the nourishing time of rebirth and renewal ahead. I love almost all the greens, but find myself most refreshed and energized by the lighter and brighter greens we see in springtime, as nature’s new growth emerges.
